As soon as you sit inside the new Touareg, it’s plain to see: the stylish interior design says it all. An elegant double seam runs from the dashboard across to the door sill. Subtle accents come standard in the new Touareg, featuring a high-gloss black century console, decorative aluminium inserts or dark-brushed decorative inserts in the R-Line. The high-quality, harmoniously coordinated materials ensure a feel-good atmosphere straight away.
All Wheel Steering
More agile steering, more comfortable manoeuvring
With the V6S R-Line comes all-wheel steering, the rear wheels are turned to an angle opposite to the front wheels up to 37 km/h. The turning circle is reduced by more than one metre as a result. At a higher speed, the rear wheels are turned in the same direction as the front wheels. The Touareg is therefore more agile and more stable when changing lanes.
Air suspension
Riding on air
The new Touareg V6S R-Line lets you decide what type of driving experience you want. Depending on the driving mode, the optional air suspension lifts the vehicle to a ground clearance of 258 mm. The rear of the vehicle can also be lowered by 40 mm for convenient loading or unloading.
Towing
3.5 tonne braked towing capacity
With 3.5 tonne braked towing capacity the new Touareg is tailor made for your Kiwi summer adventures. Whether towing a boat or pulling a campervan to scenic spots, The Touareg ensures a seamless and stress-free towing experience.
Register your trailers size in the driver assistance systems and your Touareg will acknowledge its presence behind you. Once registered your blind spot sensors and drive assists are adjusted to allow for the added dimensions at the rear.

The new Touareg V6S R-Line has 30-colour ambient lighting as standard. The lower and upper area of the interior can thus be illuminated in different colours independently of each other. If two different colours are selected, the main colour is adopted additionally for the displays. You can therefore create completely different lighting scenarios depending on your mood.

HD matrix headlights Auto Highbeam
Light just where you need it
The HD matrix headlight not only ensures better visibility at night but also supports you while driving. Over 19,000 individually controllable LEDs are used for each headlight.
This means that your Volkswagen is able to project markings onto the road when the high beam is switched on. These make it easier for you to drive through narrow construction zones on the highway or to stay in your lane. The HD matrix headlight also improves the function of Dynamic Light Assist. This means that other road users and traffic signs can be blocked out even more precisely from your own high beam. When you start or park your vehicle, the HD matrix headlight provides a special light animation for you.
Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Sign Recognition
Keeps its distance. And sticks to speed limits.
Adaptive Cruise Control ACC helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and preset distance to the vehicle in front. ACC also supports you with predictive cruise control and cornering assistance.
With Traffic sign recognition, the Adaptive Cruise Control can read road signs and adapt the vehicles speed to the relevant speed limits.
Front Assist
Emergency brake assistant
The standard Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of critical situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles. It will even brake automatically in emergency situations.
